At Yoli, we’re big fans of physical activity. It’s good for your bones, your muscles, your cardiovascular system, your weight management, and even your mood. When you’re short on time, fitting in a workout may seem impossible, but we have tips to help you make it happen!
Schedule your workouts.
Hoping to find time to work out when your schedule is always packed probably isn’t going to be enough to establish a long-term workout habit. Instead, schedule your workouts the way you would any appointment and treat them with the same dedication. You may find it easiest to get up early in the morning to exercise, or evening workouts may better fit into your schedule. You could even try working out during your lunch break. Just make sure that once you’ve scheduled your workout, you stick with it!
Make the most out of your time.
If your usual workout takes half an hour and you only have fifteen minutes, don’t abandon it completely. Put that time to use and do a quick workout rather than letting it go to waste. Try increasing the intensity of your workout—if it’s safe for you to do so—and remember, something is always better than nothing!
Have a plan in place.
When you don’t have much time to work out, the last thing you want to do is lose valuable time trying to pick a workout. Most of us have experienced this: we go to the gym, spend the first few minutes wandering around trying to choose what to do, and suddenly, we’ve been there a long time and accomplished very little. Instead, head to the gym with a plan and stick with it to make the most out of your time!
Embrace home workouts.
Driving back and forth from the gym can be time-consuming, but a lot of exercises can be done in the comfort of your own home. Take bodyweight workouts, for example. They’re simple, require no equipment, and can be done almost anywhere. Most importantly, they’re a great way to strengthen your muscles! Some examples of bodyweight exercises include push-ups, lunges, squats, and planks. If you’re not used to working out, make sure you start out slowly to get comfortable with the movements!
Exercise is an important part of optimal health, so we encourage you to use these tips to make it a priority no matter how short you are on time. For more tips for transforming your life physically, subscribe to the blog and check out our Facebook page!
